Melissa Baskette and her husband, Bill, owners of Piney Rose Designs Vintage Rentals, hosted this mid-century modern wedding styled session. Her description of the event had me at first reading: “A fun mid century modern styled session, model wearing a gorgeous vintage 60s wedding dress. Styled stations will be set up. Think vintage trailer camper and lawn flamingos in front! Colors are coral pink, teal blue, and metallic gold.” I had to be a part of this shoot!
If our models look convincing, it’s because they were engaged and this shoot was the perfect opportunity for them to practice for their own wedding day, which was only weeks away. (As of this writing, they are now happily married!) The bride was perfectly styled in her vintage gown with expertly coiffed hair and makeup. The groom brought his own 60s vibe with white shirt, dark suit and dark rimmed glasses.
Several photographers showed up to take advantage of this wonderful event. We have all shared our photos and one of them has even been published. Seeing how each of us interpret the same setting is a bonus of photographing together at a styled shoot. I personally enjoy standing back and taking it all in, using the session to learn more about posing couples during a wedding.
I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed shooting them! ♥
